In her award-winning book, “The Healing Power of Reiki,” Raven Keyes tells moving stories of trailblazing an ancient healing practice into the operating rooms of  Mehmet Oz, MD, and Sheldon Marc Feldman, MD, Chief, Section of Breast Surgery, at NewYork–Presbyterian/ Columbia. She describes her forays in bridging Reiki to not just modern medicine, but to the world of professional athletes and to those suffering after 9/11. The Healing Power of Reiki won the 2013 COVR Visionary Award in the category of Alternative Health.

Raven Keyes was the first Reiki master to work in an operating theater alongside Dr. Mehmet Oz. She brought Reiki to the NFL, NBA and to those affected by the events of September 11th, for which she was honored as a “New Yorker of the Week” on news channel NY-1.

In addition to continuing to work with patients at the Section of Breast Surgery at NYP/Columbia, Keyes teaches meditation, holds workshop internationally, and is organizing a volunteer program so that patients of Dr. Feldman can receive Reiki in his office. She will soon have a weekly virtual meditation class available for anyone throughout the world interested in their own healing, stress-relief and overall well-being. Her next book will be published by Llewellyn Worldwide in 2014.
